What is Army GD?
GD are posts inside the Indian Army. The full form of GD is General Duty. This is a very big post of the Indian Army, in which lakhs of soldiers work.
As you must be understanding from its name that you get General Duty inside it, in which you can get any kind of duty. For example, if you understand, you can be sent to any technical department in this, in which you are given full training first. Apart from this, you can get any type of duty like in any office, at the border or as a driver.
You must have never heard that there is any recruitment for the driver in the Indian Army, or any recruitment has come out for the office, only the people selected in GD are sent inside all of them. First they are given training in any one department, and after that they are sent to that post.
How to join GD
If you also want to join GD post in the Indian Army, then whenever its recruitment comes out, then you have to apply for that post. You can fill the form of Army GD only if you have the following qualifications :-
1. Education Qualification
For this you must be your 10th, in which you should have more than 45% marks, apart from this your marks should be more than 30 in each subject.
If you have passed 12th, then you can apply for this job, there is no limit on your marks in this, if you have passed only 12th, then you can apply for this job.

4. Marital Status
You should not be married for this post, if you are married, then you cannot go to Army GD. you can get married after getting selected in it.
If you have all these qualifications then you are eligible to apply for Army GD. After this you are going to have a physical test first :-
Physical test
Under the Physical Test of Army GD, the following tests are conducted :-
1. Race
First you have to run under it, the distance of which is 1.6 miles (1600 metres). It consists of a 400 metre track, around which you have to put four rounds. You are given 5 minutes 39 seconds to complete this ground.
For this race, you are divided into different groups and then some people are selected from each group.
2. Pull ups
After the run, you have to do pull ups, under which you have to do a total of 10 pull ups, for this you must do at least 6 pull ups.
3. Jump
After applying pull ups, you have a jump test, in which you have to jump a pit of 9 feet.
4. Balancing Vim
Balancing Vim is the last physical test, in which you have to walk on a thin band. This path to keep balance is zig-zag, so you have to maintain your balance on it.
Medical test
After the physical test, you have a medical test, when you pass the physical test, then any time after that you can be called for the medical test. In the medical test, your medical condition is checked.
Written test
The written test is the final examination of Army GD, when you pass the medical and physical test, after that you are called for the written test. In which you are asked questions from the Army GD Syllabus.
After the completion of this test, the final merit list is prepared, if your name appears in it, then you are selected for Army GD, and later you are sent for training. When your training is completed, after that you are sent to the Indian Army. In this you can be sent to any post.
